Thunderlands, a Pony Express Western fantasy world

In the west are the eternal Amaranthine Cities of the elves. After centuries of seclusion, the elves are opening to trade and communication.

To the east is the coastal Opinicus Empire. Vast grainfields, bountiful fishing, and spacious ranches make the Empire prosperous and hungry to expand.

Some 2,000 miles in between are the wild, unsettled Thunderlands. Home to monsters, outlaws, minor kingdoms, and the brutal Thunderblood druids who punish trespassers on their sacred lands . . . which means you.

You storied few are the couriers between the two great powers, riding for the Expedition Express. You travel quickly, changing horses at way stations throughout the Thunderlands. Along the way, you might uncover power, riches, and buried secrets between the two nations. But the mail must go through!

Thunderlands is based on the Pony Express, which operated across the U.S. West from 1860–1861.

But this is fantasy adventure, not pure western. More leather armor, less leather chaps. More tavern, less saloon. More dungeon crawl, less Gunfight at the OK Corral.

All that said, it would be a shame not to have guns and cowboy hats and crusty prospectors and spittoons mixed in with your longswords and chainmail. So you can expect all of that too.
